Buy Discontinued Hair Products and Save Big Bucks

With today’s economy everyone is searching for ways to save money. Hair care products can be very expensive, but a great tip to saving money is to buy discontinued hair products. Yes, you read that correctly. Discontinued hair products can be purchased at a fraction of the retail price so you can really save some money.

I know what you are thinking. Is it safe to buy discontinued hair products? The real question you are asking is why do manufacturers discontinue making certain products? Here are some common reasons that items get discontinued:

Sales – Even though you might love it, the hair product might not have sold as well as it was expected to so it is dropped from production.

Ingredients no longer available – The manufacturer might not be able to get an ingredient so they have to drop product. It isn’t easy to simply find a replacement ingredient and yet keep the product the same.

Trends – The manufacturer wants to introduce a new product to keep up with current trends and as a result they have to drop an old product. This happens all of the time.

Image – A manufacturer wants to update their image and so they drop older products that have been deemed not to fit into their new image. It is a shame because this happens to many good products.

Recall – The product might have been recalled due to a health issue related to the product or to an ingredient in the product.

Bankruptcy – The manufacturer may have run into financial difficulties and as a result they go out of business. To settle debts they have to sell off their discontinued inventory.

A word of caution: In general, it is perfectly safe to use discontinued hair products, but please do your research first! If you come across a product that you want to buy, plug the name of the discontinued product into any search engine to see what comes up. This is a fast way to see if there have been any health-related issues associated with the discontinued item. If there were any recalls or health issues then do not purchase the product.

How to Start an Online Business when your Budget is a Big Zero ?

Starting a profitable online business might cost you thousands of dollars. Another problem is to have everything created and set up properly. The worst thing is when you don’t have enough time to do it all yourself and you just have a simple website to sell your product. This article explains on how to kick start your online business easily without huge startup costs and sell your products online.

Everybody needs to have something extra to do in order to earn a little more than his or her 9 to 5 job entails. Most people choose the Internet as a tool since this provides a way out without the hassle of finding a office or shop space and it cost relatively less than setting up a real life business.

How Much Does it Cost to Set up an E-Business?

Well, let us look first at what it entails. The first thing you would need with e-commerce is a website which you may design yourself or have a professional do it for you. This would be your virtual shop – hence, it needs to be presentable, inviting, and easy to navigate. Simplicity would work fine, just as long as the website is attractive enough to get the surfer interested in looking around and functional enough to get him or her what they want when they want. Then, you would need a domain name and web hosting services. A domain name is www.yourbusinessname.com or edu, org, or whatever which would be your address on the Web. In order to have a good 24×7 presence on the web, you would need a good web host which would give you sufficient bandwidth (meaning space to spread your website) so many people could watch and use the website at the same time. You need to have a server uptime of at 99.8% and that would cost some funds as well.

Once you have a great website and an excellent web host, you would need to concentrate on getting people see and visit your ’shop’. For this you would need to advertise online and off line with whatever means you have. There are many, many ways to draw customers to your website, but in order to make the effort count you need to concentrate on attracting only those people who are in some measure interested in what you have to offer. This is called targeted advertising, i.e. you target your dragnet to only those surfers who would be most likely to buy something.

There Are Excellent Alternatives

The above procedure would at the minimum cost you about US $500. If you insist in getting outstanding quality in everything you endeavor, the cost might go to US $1000. This means that unless you have this capital, you might not get the returns you would have planned to get. So, what happens if you do not have this cash ready to invest?

Do not worry – there are some great alternatives to set up a very profitable business. It is called affiliate network. What you need to do here is find a great affiliate network – some of them charge a huge fee to allow you to become a member, while yet others offer you all kind of help for free + offers you an excellent commission for every item you sell for them. The Click2Sell.EU ( http://www.click2sell.eu ) is one of such super affiliate networks which offers you an excellent platform to launch your business, even if you do not have your own website.

Wow, July already, which puts us roughly half way through peak boating season! Depending on where you keep your boat and what kind of boating you do with it, inevitably there is some wear and tear showing that happens during the season. Particularly up here in West Michigan we have a wide assortment of bugs that love to call our boats home, birds who commonly use them as target practice, and plenty of muck and yuck that tracks on board. I always like to give my boat a little mid-season “tune-up” with a serious clean and polish.

There may be a fair amount of you that cringed at the thought of spending a day of due diligence on your knees, slowly working your shoulder out of its socket while you wax. So I compiled a little help list of products I like to use as well as a small guide on how to make the situation more enjoyable.

Before you begin, properly prepare yourself:

* Consult your physician first if your idea of exercise is lifting a beer to your mouth

* Do some stretching; loosen up your back, shoulders, arms, and neck.

* Pick a sunny day, not only can it improve your attitude, but it can make it easier to see where you have waxed.

* Bring duct tape and plastic; tape your children to the dock posts and use the credit card to send your significant other shopping; its best not to be bothered when you need to be focused on this task.

* Stay hydrated; depending on the size of your vessel, make sure to keep a six or twelve pack refrigerated.

* Have fun; as difficult as it sounds, try to take enjoyment and think of how great your boat is going to look when it’s done!

* When finished; make sure to feed the children, call the credit card company and tell them your card was stolen today, contact your physician and tell him you will need some Vicodin for your back, grab the rest of your refreshments, kick back and enjoy the view.

Now that you are fully prepared for your mission, below are some of the items I like to use to get the job done. Good luck!

-Capt. B, BoatersBasement.com

My weapons of choice:

* The Hose

o I wouldn’t suggest skimping on the hose. Buy a good solid rubber hose, the reason I like these is the ease of coiling compared to that of a cheaper vinyl. Every time I am finished cleaning my boat, I coil my hose up and either put it in my dock box or back into the transom. (A hose that coils well takes up less room!)

* The Nozzle

o I cringe when I watch boaters use standard garden hose nozzles with the big metal heads; you know what happens when you drop that onto your deck? A nice chip in your fiberglass. Any local hardware should sell spray nozzles that are rubber coated. These are your ticket.

* The Brushes

o I am a big fan of the Shurhold Shur-Lok brush system, one telescoping handle with multiple brush attachments. I have the staple three heads; a white stiff brush, the yellow soft brush, and the deluxe chamois. I wash my boat on average once a week over a 3 to 4 month boating season. I haven’t replaced my stiff brush in years. The soft brush and chamois I use more frequently and replace every couple of seasons.

* The Cleaners

o Spray Nine: This is like Fantastik spray cleaner that you use at home, but for your boat instead. I spray it on all surfaces like countertops and seats; it’s a great germ killer and can prevent mildew when used regularly.

o 3M: I like to use 3M polishes and waxes when the job requires a little more elbow grease.

* Rubbing compound: This is your bad boy of the waxing world, so don’t use without forethought! Rubbing compounds can take away finishes and damage fiberglass if used incorrectly. It’s a beautiful tool to do by hand for small scratches, but if you are looking at applying it to large areas, I suggest using a wheel.

* Cleaner Wax: Ok, so your boat has had some sun and could use some good polishing to clear up her complexion. I really like using this cleaner wax which combines a touch on compound with a mix of waxes to help rejuvenate the finish. Again, this stuff can be thick. If you know how to use a wheel to apply and take off, that would save you reconstructive shoulder surgery.

* Metal Polish: If you’re going to make the fiberglass look like new, don’t make the metals jealous. Over time (especially in salt water) metal can take a beating, covered with oils, salts, dirt, and maybe even begin corroding. Metal polish is a great way to bring to the glimmer back. Even if you think your railings are clean, polish one side, and you will be amazed at what comes off!

o Finishing Wax: Meguiars makes a premium flagship finishing wax. If your fiberglass is in overall good shape and you are looking to put a quick protective coat on top, this is your stuff. It’s easy to apply, easy to take off, and makes your boat look like you slaved for hours.

o Boat Soap: It’s hard to go wrong with boat soap. Most soap these days advertise being sensitive so as to not wash away that wax job you just slaved over and, in addition, are biodegradable, so feel free to award yourself 10 mother-earth friendly points.

o Isinglass Cleaner: It’s easy to kink, wrinkle, crack, and scratch, and unfortunately most of us have some if not quite a bit of it. Isinglass needs to be treated with care. While gently rinsing it with beforehand, I am a big advocate of putting the final touches on my isinglass with a plastic protectant such as Plexus. It cleans, polishes, and protects, then the rest is up to you.

* The Applicators

o I already described my brushes to you. For waxes requiring a wheel, I would speak with a sales associate at whatever store you purchased your unit to see what they might suggest from what they have in stock. For more general waxing, there are a number of applicator pads you can pick up at any convenience store, which are generally good for several uses. For buffing off my wax, I don’t use anything fancy; really, I like to use an old cotton t-shirt because it has lots of surface space, is two sided and reversible, and the miles add up. A clean one of these works well for applying your isinglass cleaner as well.

Over the years, many of us have heard about the opportunities available in wholesale travel. As a consumer, we can recognize that if these wholesale travel packages are legitimate, then we will have access to vacation packages that would make the average traveler drool over their possibilities in travel destinations. When we slide the shoe to the other foot and consider wholesale travel as a business opportunity, we question whether we have the knowledge or fortitude to succeed in this type of business.

Read on as we examine wholesale travel from the perspective of the consumer and the online businessperson seeking new opportunities in profit.

Beware of The Discount Travel Scams

While the wholesale travel industry is a legitimate industry offering legitimate travel packages, there are a few people out there offering deals that are less than favorable to consumers.

The most common travel scam is the kind used to sell timeshare packages in real estate. The real estate agent will give you a free three-day package to an attractive destination, IF your yearly salary meets certain minimums AND you agree to sit down and listen to a sales pitch for timeshare properties.

Now, there is nothing wrong with timeshares per se, but the methods that some unscrupulous agents employ to sell timeshares are shameful to say the least. Timeshare supported vacations are well known for their hard-sell approach to the sales process.

As a result, when most people speak of discount travel or wholesale travel, the first thought that comes to the mind of most consumers is the timeshare sales pitch. As a result, consumers generally have a poor opinion of discount travel or wholesale travel, based only on their fears of timeshare selling scams.

Be Aware Of Travel Restrictions With Some Packages

There are three types of restrictions that may accompany some discount travel packages:

* Expiration Dates: Many packages come with defined expiration dates that make them difficult-to-use by the stated due-date. Not all of us can gear up to take our vacation within the next 90 days. So, be certain to read the fine print of any offer that is made available to you.

* Blackout Dates: Blackout dates were made famous by David Spade’s representation of Capital One Credit Cards. Some travel rewards carry blackout dates to limit the expense of those rewards. They don’t want you using your travel rewards over the Thanksgiving weekend, since that is the busiest travel weekend of the year, and prices are generally higher for that peak period. Travel rewards aside, some travel packages employ blackout dates as well. Check the fine print to make sure that any blackout dates offered with a package do not interfere with how you want to use the travel package.

* Non-Transferable Vouchers: In theory, if you buy a hotel room and an airline ticket to Jamaica for the weekend and if something were to happen in your life that prevented you from using your purchased services, you could give the tickets and reservations to your best friend, so your money would not be wasted. Some travel vouchers may prevent you from transferring your vacation to another party. As always, read the fine print to know what restrictions might limit your vacation plans.

In a lot of cases, even if these restrictions exist, they will not interfere with your vacation plans. But, it is far better to be aware of a limitation before you buy your vacation, than it is to find out about those restrictions when you are ready to plan your trip.

How Do Service Providers Profit From Vacation Packages?

Where the value of discount travel or wholesale travel packages distracts many people, is this underlying question of how companies can offer these types of packages. The consumer is confused by the whole concept of free vacations, so we will look into the profit motive here.

When people are looking at an offer of a free vacation that consists of three days in a hotel room, many people are dumbfounded that such a thing could exist. If we use Las Vegas hotels and Orlando Florida hotels as examples, it is a much easier concept to understand.

When a Las Vegas hotel offers a free three-day stay, they do so with the expectation that you may spend several hundred or thousand dollars in their casino. If you did not take the free stay in their hotel room, you may have taken your vacation in Las Vegas anyhow, but stayed in one of their competitor’s hotel rooms. If that were to happen, then their competitor would have won your money in their casino instead.

Hotels in vacation spots such as Orlando Florida may be receiving rewards from Walt Disney World to ensure that you spend your vacation at Walt Disney World, instead of Six Flags Over Texas. The hotel will receive money from Walt Disney World for your stay, and you will eat several meals and use several services at the hotel that gave you the hotel room for free.

Free services frequently provide the lubrication that helps a local economy soar, so many businesses will offer rewards to the hotel chains to offer free hotel rooms to visitors.

Do keep in mind that if you do get a free hotel room, there will still be a small cost to you in terms of the taxes excised on that hotel room stay. State laws mandate that all visitors pay taxes on their hotel rooms, and even though your stay might be free, you will still be required to pay the taxes on the room.

How The Airline Industry Profits From Discount Air Travel

When an airplane flies from New York City to Los Angeles, they always have a specific number of seats on that flight. Even if only twenty people paid for that flight, they airline would be required to make the journey, with all of its empty seats in tow.

So, airlines have constructed a very unique business model to make sure their empty seats are filled. When you buy a seat directly from the airline company, you will most always pay full price for the seat. If you buy your airline seat from a travel company, you can often find discounts on those seats.

Very literally, airline companies calculate how many seats they will sell on their own for each flight, and then they wholesale the remaining seats to travel agencies and other travel companies, to ensure that they will fill most or all of their seats.

The travel industry will buy seats on the airplane for as much as 90% off the retail cost of a flight. Then they will turn around and sell those flights to their customers at a markup. The actual discount rate will vary by the company making the offer, since only the biggest wholesale travel companies will get the deepest discounts, and the travel agencies usually buy seats from these airline seat wholesalers.

Can The Little Guy Compete In A Market Saturated by Big Players?

Simply put, yes. A friend of mine at Dreams By Vasrue has built his own little travel empire selling wholesale travel packages. In a recent month, he was able to generate $18,000 in profits – these were profits, not total sales.

With a saturated market filled by big names such as Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz and many others, you would think it impossible to compete in such a crowded marketplace. But, you must remember that these big travel websites are operating as the travel agency, buying travel services at wholesale and marking up their prices to make a significant profit.

This leaves the little guys lots of opportunity to reach the buying public in ways that the big websites cannot do themselves. The big websites are not in the business of offering true wholesale travel, because they are like travel agencies selling retail travel to consumers.

The Lesson In This Story

The lesson in this story is that the Internet is offering lots of entrepreneurs a way to stand up and compete with the largest corporations on the planet in a multitude of industries.

As an online businessperson, you should always be looking for that new opportunity that could make you very wealthy. When you take the time to learn the internal workings of any industry, you will uncover opportunities to compete successfully and prosperously with the biggest names in your own industries.

How To Immediately Boost Your Affiliate Marketing Sales

Here are some ‘common sense’ ways to boost your affiliate sales. Why not try some of these very practical approaches to your Internet Marketing and give your bottom line a much needed lift.

Affiliate marketing is a very competitive field. Savvy affiliate marketers use every tactic they know to get the upper hand over their competition. It can mean the difference of whether or not they get that all important sale.

One of the best ways to boost your affiliate sales is to take full advantage of brand name recognition. It is a proven affiliate marketing tactic: selling products with high popular brand recognition is much easier than selling an unknown product or company.

It just makes common sense in our brand eat brand world!

It seems so obvious but many beginning affiliate marketers make the mistake of promoting little known products or companies. Their task will be much more difficult than if they sold the products of a well recognized brand name.

As a full time affiliate marketer I have seen this fact pointed out daily in my sales stats. Brand names sell. Popular brand names sell even better. Popular brand names with popular trendy products sell the best.

If you’re an affiliate marketer you must choose the products you promote with the utmost care; in many cases this is where you will determine the outcome of your marketing efforts. Choose wisely and you could be in profit before you know what hit you. Choose wrongly and it’s an uphill struggle from the very beginning.

Here are a few tips or suggestions to help with your affiliate marketing.

* How To Pick Popular Products

You must keep your eyes open. What products are your friends and relatives buying? What brands? What products are in all the popular magazines? What Products are being advertised on TV ad nauseam?

You should be able to figure out the popular brands and products that are currently selling. Remember, if it’s popular, it’s selling!

As an affiliate marketer you can promote anything, why not choose the most popular brands and products. Just look for popular trends and join the bandwagon. Sure, the competition might be stiffer but the demand for these products will also be greater.

If you join affiliate networks like Commission Junction they will show you the companies with the highest sales volume in their system. Study this sales data before you pick your affiliate companies or products.

You can even use Google Trends to tell which products are popular and in which countries. Do some market research first and pick the most popular products to promote.

Many marketers keep an eye on their PPC (Pay Per Click) keywords for any surges in searches or impressions. A big jump could mean an increase in popularity for that product or company.

* Be Aware of The Buzz Factor

Certain brand names and products have buzz. How many times have you seen the Apple iPhone shown or spoken about in the last month?

How about Vista? I promote laptops within one of my online sites… I saw a surge in laptop sales once Vista was released. I sell RAM or memory cards on my site… I knew there would be an increase in people searching to boost their computer’s RAM to take full advantage of Vista.

Keeping your eyes open to popular trends can result in more sales. If there is high demand it is much easier to sell the product.

* Can It Only Be Bought Online?

One of my most successful tactics has been to pick products or offers that are only available online. Dell products come quickly to mind. If products are only available online, you will have a better chance of selling them.

Online coupons and exclusive deals also increases your affiliate sales. Look for these and display them along with your popular brands for they will increase your sales. Everybody loves a deal!

* Use Brand Names In Your Site Copy and PPC Advertising

You must always check with your affiliate company what rules they have about displaying brand names and trademarks on your site copy. Most companies will supply their affiliates with web content they can use for promotion.

Most Companies have strict rules prohibiting affiliates from using certain brand name keywords in their PPC advertising. Each company is different, so check before you proceed with any PPC campaigns.

However, one of the most effective ways for PPC advertising is to use the particular brand name and product name in your PPC ads. Savvy affiliate marketers have figured this one out long ago, it mainly has to do with finding the buyer at the right stage in their buying process. If they’re looking a particular product; they may already have their minds made up and are ready to buy.

I have experienced this first hand in my own online marketing. Someone searching in Google for gaming laptops might just be checking out these machines, whereas someone searching for a particular gaming laptop by the exact product name is more likely to buy… and I have the web stats to prove it!

* A Rose Is A Rose Is A Sale!

In conclusion, if you’re going to promote affiliate products, it would be foolhardy not to pick popular brand names that are trusted and liked by your potential customers. Brand name loyalty will play a major role in whether or not you get the sale. Keep your eyes peeled for popular trends and shifts in the marketplace so you can adjust your marketing to meet these new demands. Just remember, when in doubt always go with the popular brand name and you will increase your sales.

Ticket Buying and Selling Guide

This guide contains 6 easy to understand chapters with very helpful information and tip on buying and selling tickets. The guide is perfect for fans, ticket sellers, or people interested in a becoming a ticket seller!

In this free guide you will learn a lot about buying and selling tickets. It is very easy to read and to understand. This guide is perfect for fans, ticket sellers, and people interested in becoming ticket sellers! Fans will learn how to get good tickets without paying a premium. Ticket sellers will learn how to get good tickets and how to maximize their profits. And people interested in becoming ticket brokers will learn how to properly buy and sell tickets. Enjoy!

BUYING TICKETS

Chapter 1: How to prepare for a ticket sale

Fans and ticket brokers both want to get good seats when they are searching for tickets for an event. But in order to do this, you must be well prepared before the ticket sale begins. In this section, we will discuss how to prepare for a ticket sale. If you are well prepared for a ticket sale, you will probably get better tickets than if you aren’t. I always prepare before each ticket sale I want to buy tickets for. In May of 2007 I was well prepared for the presale of the KROQ concert. My preparation paid off big time. I got 1 ticket in the front center section in the 1st row. It cost me $90 and I sold it on eBay for $600. So, this shows that preparation does pay off.

Below are 5 important things you should do before a ticket sale in order to properly prepare for it:

   1. Be at a computer 10 to 15 minutes before the ticket sale. Load the event page. Now, log in to your Ticketmaster account to avoid having to do it while purchasing tickets.

   2. Open 2 different internet browsers, like Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. This is the perfect combination because you can use both browsers at the same time to search for tickets without a problem. Make sure to only search for one event at a time in each browser. If you search for more than one event at the same time in the same browser, it will mess up your searches. But, you can search for one event in one browser and one event in another browser at the same time without a problem.

   3. If the ticket sale is a presale, make sure you have the presale password. Highlight the presale password with your mouse icon and press Ctrl + C to copy the presale password. Then, when the presale starts, click in the presale password box and press Ctrl + V to paste it in the box.

   4. Start refreshing the event page 1 minute before the sale time. Refresh by pressing F5 once every 5 seconds until you are able to search for tickets.

   5. DO NOT refresh too many times on a Ticketmaster page. If you refresh too many times, your IP address will be blocked from going to Ticketmaster for 24 hours. The only way around this block is to use a proxy. Below is a good proxy list website: http://tools.rosinstrument.com/proxy/

Chapter 2: Presales and public sales

Presales – A presale for an event occurs before the public sale. Presales are good because there are less people trying to search for tickets because of the password required to participate. So, you will have a better chance of getting good seats than during the public sale. This isn’t always true for all events. The bad thing about presales is that there are a lot less tickets available to be sold during the presale and you need a password to participate. Generally, about 10% of the seats are available during presales. So, you won’t have access to all the seats available for the event and you’ll need a password to participate. Presale passwords are usually sold for $2 to $10 on eBay and on website, but the ones on our website are FREE! And, you might not even get tickets because of the limited availability of seats.

Public Sales – A public sale for an event is when everyone can buy tickets without a password. Public sales are good because the majority of the seats for the event are available and because you don’t need a password. So, you will access to most of the seats for the event without needing a password. The bad thing about public sales is that anyone can participate in them. So, there will be a lot of demand for seats. I suggest you try searching for tickets during the presale, and if you don’t get tickets or want to try again, try the public sale too.

Chapter 3: Where to buy tickets

Ticketmaster – Ticketmaster is the first place you should try to buy tickets from. If you search for tickets through Ticketmaster, you can get good tickets at face value, without paying a premium. Try searching for tickets during presales and public sales to see what you can get. If it says that there are no seats left, don’t worry. Ticketmaster never releases all of an event’s seats at once. So, keep on searching for tickets for about 5 to 20 minutes. You can still get good and even better after the public sale. So, if you couldn’t get any seats at first, try again in a few minutes or a few hours.

eBay – You should first try buying tickets from Ticketmaster before paying a premium for tickets on eBay. eBay is a website that has thousands of different ticket auctions for almost all events. If you couldn’t get any tickets through Ticketmaster, this is the best place to go. But, you have to realize that ticket sellers won’t pay to list their tickets and not make any money. So, most ticket auctions on eBay will end at more than the tickets’ actual cost. Also, since there are so many ticket auctions, sellers usually start the bidding low due to competition. This means that you may be able to get good tickets at around face value if the competition gets tight and sellers start dropping their prices. This usually occurs for less profitable events and for events that are a few weeks away. So, if you wait until a few weeks before the event, you might get good tickets around or below face value! Almost all sellers accept Paypal, which is a very secure payment method for both buyers and sellers. So, if you have a problem with an order, you can make a dispute through Paypal. Also, make sure to check the buyer feedback of ticket sellers you want to buy from before you buy from them.

Stubhub – Stubhub is a website where ticket sellers list their tickets for sale and then buyers search for them and then buy them. Stubhub is also a good place to check out if you couldn’t get any tickets through Ticketmaster. Unlike eBay, Stubhub has a toll free phone number for sales and support, and tickets are sold at a fixed price with no auction. Stubhub is very secure for buyers because they are protected by a very good guarantee. Sellers list tickets for less than face value a lot more often and often quicker than on eBay. So, if you can’t find cheap enough tickets on eBay, try looking on Stubhub.

Craigslist – Craigslist is a website where people post classified ads locally. People that post tickets for sale on Craigslist will usually sell for below face value, especially if the event is less than a week away. So, you can buy tickets for way cheaper than other places. But, Craigslist is not a very safe place to buy tickets from. It should only be used if you need tickets for an event that is less than a week away. So, let’s review this chapter. First, try to buy tickets from Ticketmaster. If you couldn’t get any tickets, try looking on eBay and Stubhub. If they are too expensive wait a few days or weeks. And finally, only use Craigslist as a last resort.

SELLING TICKETS

Chapter 1: Determining profitability

You just bought a pair of amazing tickets, in your opinion, through Ticketmaster. You are positive that you are going to make a lot of money off the tickets. The artist is popular, the seats are in row 10, what else do you need to make a profit? Well, the most important part of selling tickets is making a profit. And you won’t make a profit if you buy tickets to an unprofitable event. You have to consider a lot of different things to determine if an event is profitable. You should consider: the event venue, city, event date, artist popularity, and much more. Most new ticket sellers lose a lot of money by making this mistake. A good way to see if your tickets will make you a profit is to search for the event on eBay and then comparing the auctions starting price to the tickets’ actual cost. If you are still unsure about the profitability for an event you bought tickets for, start a 1 day eBay auction the same day you buy the tickets. If your auction doesn’t go as planned and you know you will lose money, cancel the auction. Since you ordered the tickets within 24 hours, you cancel them.

To cancel the tickets:

First, go to Ticketmaster.com and click on Help.

Next, click on Contact Us in the Customer Service section.

Find your local Ticketmaster phone number and call it.

Press 1 for English, then press 2 for existing orders. Next, press the star sign and then press 2 again.

When someone gets on the line, ask if they are Customer Support, if they aren’t ask to be transferred to them.

When someone gets on the line again, tell the representative a made up story that explains why you need your tickets to be cancelled. For example, you can say that you bought the tickets for the wrong venue and you realized this last night when you checked your e-mail, but it was too late to call them. Ask them nicely if they can do something to help you fix this problem. They will almost always give you a refund if you give them a good reason.

Event Experts is a very good website which will help you decrease your losses and increase your profits by advising you of the profitability of events. Experienced ticket brokers post predictions for many events going on sale each day. The predictions usually tell you if the event is profitable and which section to buy tickets from. Event Experts has 1 month trials of their website membership listed on eBay for about $7 for the first month. Try it out!

Chapter 2: When to sell tickets

You just finished ordering a pair of tickets that you want to sell. Now you need to decide when you are going to sell your tickets. Timing is a very important factor which helps determine your profits. You don’t want to wait too long to sell your tickets. Prices go down and people lose interest after a few weeks of the public sale. So, selling early is very important if you want good profits.

If you are sure you will make a profit and that your tickets are good, you can start a 5 to 7 day eBay auction for the tickets the same day. This will allow more buyers to bid, so there will be more bids. Or, you can also start a 1 day auction so the buyers will usually bid early and put high maximum bids. This way, your profits may be a bit higher due to the pressure on the buyers to bid early and high.

If you are unsure if your tickets will make a profit, first look at other auctions for tickets for the same event. If most of the auctions that are about to finish will make a profit, you can predict that your tickets will too. But just to be safe, start a 1 day auction for the tickets the same day. This will put pressure on buyers to bid early, so you will know before the auction end if you will make money. If the bids haven’t increased enough to make a profit, cancel your auction and try to cancel the tickets by doing the steps above.

Chapter 3: Where to sell tickets

eBay

      Pros

It is the largest point of resale for tickets, so there will be a lot of potential buyers. It is the fastest way to sell tickets and liquidate your inventory You only need a Paypal account to sell tickets

      Cons

Since listings are auction-style, you must relist your tickets if they don’t sell. Competitive sellers may cause lower profits. Non-paying bidders Fraudulent chargebacks

Stubhub

      Pros

It’s free to list your tickets Shipping is very easy for sellers Not auction-style listings like eBay, so your tickets can be listed until the week of the show

      Cons

Huge fees (15%)

TicketNetwork

      Pros

Lower fees than eBay and Stubhub Tickets sell at higher prices TicketNetwork has software to completely manage your ticket inventory The TicketBoard allows you to get tickets at wholesale prices from other brokers

      Cons

You need to be available during business hours so other brokers can purchase your tickets You need a merchant account so you can process credit card You have to pay a yearly fee and you need a fax machine

Craigslist

      Pros

You can sell tickets for local concerts even if the concert is less than a week away

      Cons

Most people don’t follow through on an agreement to meet up locally to complete a transaction It is very risky and you will likely take a loss

I recommend new sellers with low inventory use eBay and Stubhub together. And I recommend that experienced sellers with a lot of inventory use TicketNetwork on their website. If you follow the guidelines in this guide and take them into action, you will succeed!

Internet Marketing Businesses have taken on a new twist since the internet’s explosion. It’s true that systems like Carbon Copy Pro can offer the entrepreneur substantial profits in a relatively short period of time as long as you’re willing to work.

Carbon Copy Pro and MLM Goldmine have gained massive attention and exposure over the last 12 months because of this. These programs differ from traditional marketing in that they offer high-ticket items for direct sales, which give home-based entrepreneurs a better chance at making faster profits. With proper marketing and mentoring a new entrepreneur in Carbon Copy Pro can earn upwards of $5,000 to $10,000 his first month ore more. However, most home-based business owners are not well versed in the techniques and strategies that will make their marketing efforts successful.

The learning curve for traditional marketing programs can be very steep and can cost quite a lot. However, many upfront commissions in home-based marketing programs amount to less than $50. To start, many people can find that their expenses are far outweighing their profits. However, programs like Carbon Copy Pro create a commission structure that lets people make larger commissions up front, so that their profits come to them a lot faster.

High ticket direct sales programs usually have a start up cost of $500 – $10,0000. In some cases, they can even top the scales and $10,000. However, most businesses don’t find many takers at that price range, since most people can’t afford that kind of upfront outlay. The more popular programs start at about $1500 such as Carbon Copy Pro. This type of outlay produces substantial immediate commissions, which lets most entrepreneurs easily cover start up costs so that they can remain in the black.

Most Internet network marketers don’t last long enough to actually start making “residual income.” In fact, most new representatives drop out of programs within about 90 days. This isn’t long enough to see results and residual income is income that usually comes in at very small amounts over a longer period of time. Due to this, new representatives don’t make enough money to cover upfront costs and therefore don’t remain in business over the long haul. This is why systems like Carbon Copy Pro differ, instead of using residual payment plans, the representative is paid up front all at once by the customer. Most people if given the choice to have $1000 upfront or receive it as residual income over 2 years would pick the upfront money for obvious reasons which is why Carbon Copy Pro has become so successful.

Because programs like Carbon Copy Pro let new representatives make big enough commissions up front so that they can sustain their own business, this motivates them to commit to building their business. Because home-based entrepreneurs are put in a positive profit position, they can take their time and build a business the right way, while staying in the black and receiving profits. Representatives should be able to make money very soon in Carbon Copy Pro, which doesn’t happen in the usual home-based business programs.

One of the reasons experts are speculating Carbon Copy Pro is growing so quickly is because their automated system is like no other in the industry. Most people get hung up on the follow up and closing of their own prospects, citing the inability to “CLOSE” as their major reason for failure. Apparently Carbon Copy Pro has eliminated this dilemma because once a new person goes through the automated system and fills in their information A professional follows up and closes the prospect. This means the new person without closing skills gets to sit back and have the professionals close his prospects for him. This may be the reason Carbon Copy Pro has been growing at an amazing rate.

Of course, just because Carbon Copy Pro has a great system does not mean it is easy and the entrepreneur can sit on his butt and make truckloads of cash, but the ability to make profits much faster than with traditional marketing is still much easier. What you must do is apply the power of the Carbon Copy Pro system with consistency.

And while you might think that the price tag of higher-ticket programs like Carbon Copy Pro will deter customers, truly interested prospects won’t be deterred. Most educated entrepreneurs already know that opening any sort of traditional business usually dwarfs the costs of systems like Carbon Copy Pro and even worse is the fact that it often takes many months to realize a profit whereas systems like Carbon Copy Pro can generate substantial money immediately.

One thing that is of even more importance than the particular program you join is choosing the right mentor. Although the newbie does not realize it their success lies to a large degree on the person that is mentoring and training them. The best thing the new person can do is find a mentor that offers something that most of the other representatives are not doing. Finding a mentor that is doing something that others are not within the Carbon Copy Pro system can mean the difference between $5,000 a month and $20,000 to $40,000 a month.

How You Can Increase Sales For Your Auctions Without A Headache

Online auctions are hot, but before you jump into the business get some basic information and learn how to generate leads month after month for little to no cost.

You know you can operate a web-based business successfully. You have decided to offer your product by auction. The big problem is the fees the most well known sites charge when an auction item sells successfully.

There’s not a lot of profit margin in some of your products so the fees are expensive. On top of that, you do all the work – finding products to sell, shipping and responding to customer inquiries. If you do all the work, then what are you paying for on auction sites? The answer is you are paying for the traffic that might view your auction items.

But if that is the most valuable service you are getting for your auction fees, there’s no reason why you can’t start your own web based auction site.

Taking An Aspirin

When you get a headache, you take an aspirin. When you face the imagined headaches of starting your own business site, you use a professional. Professionals have developed programs that make creating your own internet business a simple process. A professional web site developer will help you do a lot more than build a web page.

They teach you how to design a site that reflects your unique personality

Professionals will share the tricks of the trade to drive traffic to your site

Experts will show you how to write auction descriptions that increase bids and bid amounts

Developers will help you develop a fluid site that accommodates business growth

Site designers show you how to increase profits

Professionals create sites that include established and creative tools for attracting new business

Experts help you build a site that appeals to a worldwide audience

When you use a professional advice and assistance, there’s no reason to take an aspirin! Creating your own auction site to increase sales does not have to be difficult nor does it have to create stressful headaches. You can operate a profitable auction business and not have to pay the listing fees you pay now. That’s more money in your pocket.

Technical Know How

There is a certain comfort level to using the big online auction companies. You don’t have to worry about finding someone to host your website. You don’t have to maintain a site. But the reality is the fees charged do not justify these two advantages.

The same professionals that have developed a program to teach you how to build your own site often can host a website also. And with their training, you learn the basics you need to maintain your site. The best part is you don’t have to be a technical wizard any longer. Packages for creating an online business are simple to use, often menu driven and written so you can use plain English.

You don’t have to be a HTML writer or a computer expert. What you do have to know is your product, your marketing strategy and your goals. It is web based auctioning without the headache.

By having your own internet based auction business, you won’t have to pay fees that don’t benefit your business. Your site will be written so that potential customers can easily find your items. And once they reach your site, the information will sell your product.

There’s no reason to let the ‘big guys’ continue to take money out of your business. Use the same skills that are using in a new way and generate recurring business that makes you the success you know you are meant to be.

World Cup Ticket Sales Pass 2m

Rugby union: Despite a much maligned pricing policy, more than 2m tickets have been sold for the World Cup in France.

More than 2m tickets have been sold for the World Cup being hosted by France this autumn, despite a pricing policy which has been widely criticized.

The tournament organizers have announced that no more than 350,000 of the original 2.4m ticket allocation remain unsold and even matches with no obvious attraction, such as that between Namibia and Georgia in a 35,000-capacity stadium in Bordeaux, have few tickets left.

Some 30% of the allocation has gone to travel agents and the corporate market, with pool matches priced considerably higher than the group games at last year’s football World Cup in Germany.

Tickets that cost £45 when Wales met Australia at the Millennium Stadium in November will set spectators back £164 for the pool match between the sides at the same venue in September, compared with a top football price of £70 in Germany.

Earlier this year the Labour MP and former England wing, Derek Wyatt, said Rugby World Cup Ltd should be ashamed with itself for pricing rugby fans out of the market and distributing too many to the corporate sector. “We think a 70-30 split is right,” retorted the RWC 2007 managing director, Etienne Thobois. “We have a few games where tickets are priced quite high but these are paying for the tournament and allow 80% of the tickets to be reasonably priced.”

The World Cup is the vehicle through which the International Rugby Board runs the game. The 2003 tournament in Australia generated £81m, a sum the governing body expects to be exceeded this year. “The tournament is set to be the best ever,” said the IRB chairman, Syd Millar. “We have never sold 2m tickets before, so we have already achieved a milestone.”

Two of the three matches in Cardiff, including Wales’s fixture with Japan, still have a number of tickets available but the quarter-final scheduled for the Millennium Stadium is already a sell-out even though it will not involve Wales.

“The fact that so many tickets have been sold justifies our pricing policy,” said the French Rugby Federation president, Bernard Lapasset, unmoved by Wyatt’s contention that the tournament is not being run for true supporters.

London 2012: Big Five Sports Demand New Law to Crush the Ticket Touts

Olympic Games: The government will implement ticket-touting protection for the London Olympics, and other sports want the same protection.

Britain’s five biggest sports have signed a letter of complaint to the government demanding they be given the same legal protection against ticket touts that will be enjoyed by the London Olympics in 2012. The governing bodies of football, cricket, tennis, and rugby league and union have asked the culture secretary, Tessa Jowell, to reform the “two-tier” system surrounding ticket sales in British sport.

According to the International Olympic Committee’s stipulations for host cities, the government has legislated to make it an offence to resell tickets for the London Games. However the same venues will not be able to prevent ticket scalping in the weeks leading up to the Olympics.

“The sports community is frustrated that the government has made it an offence for tickets to be touted for the London 2012 Olympics,” wrote David Collier, the chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board, citing the support of his counterpart chief executives at the Football Association, Lawn Tennis Association, Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union.

“It is surely an anomaly for the Wimbledon tennis tournament to be staged in late June 2012 will have no ticket-touting protection, while the tennis tournament at the same venue just eight weeks later in the 2012 Olympics will. Or that the Lord’s Test in June 2012 affords no protection when the archery in the Olympics will be protected only a few weeks later.

“We would urge you to address this anomaly so that there is no two-tier status between the Olympics and other major sporting events held in the UK. Set against the backdrop of reduced funding for sport from the lottery due to the transfer of funds to the 2012 Olympic Games, you will see why we are keen to avert some of this downfall by protecting our sports from the costs of addressing touting.”

The comments reflect widespread concern in English sport regarding the huge boost Olympic funding has received over grassroots initiatives. There is further discontent that talks with government have been under way over the issue for more than 18 months without substantive progress. Jowell’s department of culture, media and sport is concerned that legislation would criminalise ordinary fans wishing to resell tickets for events they are unable to attend.
